Vintage Wooden Don Quixote

This vintage wooden figurine is a hand-carved depiction of the legendary literary character Don Quixote, produced by the Spanish workshop Ouro Artesania. Characterized by its thin, elongated proportions, the piece portrays the "Man of La Mancha" in a signature gaunt appearance, riding his faithful horse, Rocinante. The figure is shown wearing classic Spanish armor and his distinctive barber's basin helmet, while carrying a small, round shield on the side of the horse. He is missing is his sword and his hat is chipped.

Crafted in a traditional folk art style, these sculptures were typically hand-made in Spain during the mid-20th century, particularly in the 1960s. The dark, polished wood finish highlights the detailed carving of the horse's musculature and the knight's weary posture. This Ouro piece is marked on the bottom of the rectangular wooden base to indicate the origin and craftsmanship.
