Vintage Mexican Alpaca Silver & Inlaid Abalone Butterfly Brooch
Description
Embrace vintage bohemian charm with this beautiful Mexican artisan butterfly brooch. Handcrafted in mid-century Mexico, this eye-catching piece features detailed panels of genuine, highly iridescent abalone shell mosaic inlays meticulously set into an Alpaca silver frame.
The wings shimmer with natural peacock shades, displaying vivid flashes of emerald green, deep teal, purple, and pearlescent silver depending on how the light hits them. The metal base is crafted from Alpaca alloy, a traditional metal favored by mid-century Mexican silversmiths for its strength and lasting, bright luster.
The reverse features a traditional safety pin rollover closure. The original stamp on the back has faded over time from gentle wear but shows the distinct remaining letters of its authentic origin mark: "Alpaca Mexico". This lightweight, statement-making piece is perfect for accessorizing coats, scarves, blazers, or adding to a collection of vintage Southwestern and Mexican jewelry.
