Vintage Gold-Toned Powder Compact

This item is a vintage gold-toned powder compact. It is round and features an ornate, raised floral or starburst design on the lid, embellished with clear rhinestones and a central red stone. This style of accessory was popular in the mid-20th century, particularly the 1950s, when compacts became fashionable accessories to be used in public. The compact contains the remains of loose or pressed face powder. It features a mirror inside the lid, a sifter (gauze screen), and a powder puff.
