This antique Planters Pennant Brand Salted Peanuts tin is a large 10-pound advertising canister dating back to the 1920s. Measuring approximately 9.5 inches in height and 8.5 inches in diameter, this cylindrical metal container was used as a bulk display piece in general stores. The tin lithograph design features a vivid blue background with the "Pennant" logo set inside a large red banner. Prominently displayed on the banner is the iconic Mr. Peanut character, which first appeared in advertising in 1918 on the face of the tin includes "THE PLANTERS" in bold letters, with "SALTED PEANUTS" below the central banner. A smaller banner at the top of the label reads "POUNDS OF WHOLESOME WHOLE PEANUTS," emphasizing the product's quality.
