Mahogany Tea Table

This is an antique, mahogany, tilt-top tea table, featuring a distinctive pie-crust edge with ornate, pierced fretwork carvings along the raised rim. The circular tabletop has a polished, reflective finish and is supported by a central turned pedestal with a fluted and gadrooned bulb near the base. This pedestal rests on a tripod base consisting of three legs, each decorated with leaf carvings on the knees and terminating in detailed claw-and-ball feet. The overall design is characteristic of the Chippendale style, emphasizing intricate hand-carved details and a classic eighteenth-century silhouette.
